Returns & Refund Policy — Thomas Rainsford Ltd

1. Overview

Thomas Rainsford Ltd provides art and framing consultancy services, project management, and professional advice.
As most of our work is bespoke, time-based or advisory in nature, returns and refunds are only available in limited circumstances as set out below.

2. Consultancy and Design Services

  • Fees for consultancy, design or project management are non-refundable once work has commenced or advice has been delivered.

  • If you wish to cancel before work has begun, please notify us in writing within 7 days of accepting a quote or proposal.

  • Any time already spent on preliminary research, communication or design will be chargeable at the agreed hourly rate.

3. Framing and Third-Party Production

Where Thomas Rainsford Ltd coordinates framing or fabrication through external partners (for example, Patrick Ireland Framing):

  • The sale contract for materials or fabrication exists between the client and that supplier.

  • Any returns, warranty or workmanship issues must be handled directly with the supplier, though we are happy to assist in facilitating communication.

  • Deposits or design fees paid to Thomas Rainsford Ltd for specification work are non-refundable once materials are ordered or designs approved.

4. Damaged or Faulty Items

If artwork or framed pieces handled under our supervision are damaged prior to delivery, we will assess responsibility in consultation with all parties involved.
Where liability lies with Thomas Rainsford Ltd, we will either arrange repair or provide a reasonable refund up to the invoiced value of the service.
We are not liable for damage caused by third-party carriers, framers, or site conditions outside our control.

5. Client Cancellations

Should you cancel a confirmed project or consultancy:

  • Work completed up to the point of cancellation will be invoiced in full.

  • Any non-recoverable third-party costs already incurred (e.g. framing, travel, or materials) will also be payable.

6. Statutory Rights

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
Where the Consumer Contracts Regulations apply (for example, to online purchases of non-bespoke items), clients have 14 days from receipt to cancel, provided the item is returned in its original condition.
