LAURA WALDUSKY

Laura Waldusky is a Brighton-based artist whose practice blurs the boundaries between drawing and sculpture. Working with coloured pencils on heavy paper, she builds each composition line by line, creating rhythmic, meditative works that balance precision with spontaneity.

  • In recent years, Waldusky has expanded her practice into three dimensions, using wet-folding techniques to bend and sculpt the paper itself. The result is a body of work that shifts between surface and form, inviting the viewer to experience drawing as something tactile, architectural, and alive.

Her work has been shown internationally at the London Art Biennale, The Other Art Fair by Saatchi Art, Red Dot Miami, Barcelona Contemporary, and Aqua Art Miami. In the UK she has exhibited at Green & Stone, Kennedy Contemporary, and the Affordable Art Fair in London, among others. In 2023 she won the Visual Art Open Award for Illustration & Drawing, further establishing her reputation as a leading voice in contemporary works on paper.

Waldusky holds an MFA from Parsons School of Design in New York and a BFA in Studio Art from Texas Tech University. Her work is held in private collections across the UK, Europe, the US, and the Middle East. She currently works from her studio in Brighton Marina, where the surrounding coastal landscape and the rhythm of daily life continue to influence her practice.

  • Rathfinny Rosé (2019 Vintage)
With its rose-gold hue and delicate mousse, this Sussex sparkling reveals creamy citrus notes, clementine and kumquat, before blossoming into vivid raspberries and strawberries, and finishing with a clean, quince note.

Why it pairs with Laura Waldusky
Just as Laura’s drawings emerge line by line, layered, rhythmic, and meditative, this rosé unfolds in delicate stages: initial structure from the citrus, playful vibrancy from the red berries, and a poised finish from the quince. Her work balances control and exuberance; so does this wine, refined yet emotionally expressive. Together, they create a harmony of layering and luminosity.
